Campas Fights for Welterweight Title
Luis Ramon “Yory Boy” Campas will fight for the World Boxing Organization welterweight title tonight when he faces champion Jose Luis Lopez at the Sports Arena.
Campas, 24, of Sonora, Mexico, is 64-1 with 56 knockouts and ranked No. 1 by the WBO. His only defeat was to Felix Trinidad in 1994.
Lopez, who is 36-3-1 with 28 knockouts, won the WBO title last April when he knocked out Eamonn Loughran of Ireland in the first round in Liverpool, England.
The card begins at 6 p.m.
