Security was heightened Saturday at a Universal Amphitheater concert a day after one man was fatally stabbed and another wounded during a performance of bands from the 1960s and 1970s.

Luis C. Romero, 21, of Los Angeles was killed late Friday and an unidentified 26-year-old man from Whittier was stabbed during the “Super Slow Jam” concert at the theater, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Bob Killeen said.

The show was repeated Saturday, but no incidents were reported, Killeen said. Each concert drew about 6,000 spectators.

Killeen said the men were involved in a melee that began at 10:20 p.m. The cause was still under investigation Saturday and there were no suspects, he said.

The injured man’s name is being withheld until family members are notified, Killeen said. The man was treated at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. Killeen did not know the extent of the injuries but said the man is expected to live.
