Rubalcava Leads Friars’ Pounding of Ocean View

Danny Rubalcava rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns to lead Servite to a 41-0 victory over Ocean View in a Golden West League game Friday night at Westminster.

The Friars (5-1, 1-0 in league) scored on three of their first four possessions and led, 21-0, at halftime. Each scoring drive took six plays or fewer and no longer than three minutes.

Servite took its opening drive 61 yards in three plays, scoring on a 20-yard touchdown run by Dan Cambay only 54 seconds into the game. Rubalcava, who had 17 carries, added to the lead midway through the second quarter. He put the Friars ahead, 14-0, with a three-yard run that capped a five-play, 74-yard drive.

Servite scored its quickest touchdown four minutes into the second quarter, taking a 21-0 lead. Starting at the Seahawks’ 31-yard line, the Friars needed only eight seconds to score when quarterback Greg Cicero teamed with Nick Rodriguez on a 31-yard pass.

Cicero completed eight of 13 passes for 144 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Cambay rushed for 72 yards in seven carries.

Cambay capped a six-play, 71-yard drive in the third quarter with a 13-yard run that gave Servite a 27-0 lead. Servite also scored on its next possession, moving 79 yards in three plays--Rubalcava covering the final 35 yards.

Nick Reynolds scored the final touchdown for Servite with a three-yard run.
