Nayab Wins Appeal; Titans Lose Exhibition

Share

Cal State Fullerton senior guard Ali Nayab won an eligibility appeal with the Big West Conference council and played part of Monday night’s exhibition game against High Five America. High Five America won, 78-68, behind Preston McGriff’s 22 points.

Nayab was dressed but didn’t expect to play in the exhibition. However, Coach Bob Hawking learned at halftime that Nayab’s appeal for a medical redshirt season had been approved, and Nayab played seven minutes in the second half.

Senior forward John Williams led the Titans with 17 points. Transfer Craig Whitehead had 15. Freshman guard Dane Plock scored eight points, making both of his three-point shots.
