3 Armed Robbers Invade Home, Steal $200

Armed intruders demanding money and drugs held several adults and children hostage during a home invasion robbery Tuesday evening, police said Wednesday.

The three robbers, who wore ski masks and wielded handguns, entered the home in the 12400 block of Osborne Street about 7:25 p.m., said Los Angeles Police Sgt. Frank Reynoso of the Foothill Division.

Six adults and 10 children were home at the time. The victims insisted they had no drugs, but the robbers still managed to make off with $200 in cash, Reynoso said.

One victim was slightly injured when he was pepper-sprayed by one of suspects. Another was tied up with duct tape. A third was kicked, Reynoso said.

Another home invasion robbery occurred Tuesday afternoon in Lancaster when two men and a woman followed 82-year-old Manuel Sergio Blanco into the open garage of his home in the 43700 block of 17th Street East.

A confrontation ensued, and the suspects hit Blanco on the head, possibly with a handgun, then bound his hands and feet, sheriff’s deputies said.

Shortly thereafter, Blanco was able to escape to a neighbor’s house and call 911. Deputies sealed off the house but found no suspects after searching the property. It was not known if the suspects had stolen anything, sheriff’s deputies said.

These incidents may be related to two other possible home invasion robberies in Lancaster on Monday, the details of which were unavailable Wednesday.
