Working on the Chain Gang

Capistrano Valley girls’ volleyball Coach John Gipe was at his usual spot on the chain gang Friday night when the Cougars hosted Long Beach Wilson. After a heavy rain doused everyone, Gipe quipped, “Do they pay us enough for this?” Still, Gipe loved his sideline view of the Cougars’ 23-17 victory. “It’s the best seat in the house,” he said.
