Ventura 41, Pierce 12--Elihu Vann rushed for 153 yards in 34 carries and scored three touchdowns for the Pirates (5-5, 1-4) in a WSC game at Pierce College.

Vann surpassed 1,000 yards for the season on a four-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Vann, who finished with 1,007 yards, scored on a touchdown run of two yards and his 59-yard reception in the second quarter gave the Pirates a 13-6 lead.

Dan McMullen completed 14 of 30 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns for Pierce (0-10, 0-5). Pierce scored in the first half on plays of 59 yards to Jermaine Brooks 72 to Randy Iaccino.

The Brahmas, who have lost 18 consecutive games, gained only 38 yards rushing.

Donell Wickett broke Ventura’s single-season pass reception record with six catches, raising his total to 61. Wickett gained 79 yards and scored on receptions of 34 and nine yards.
