Police are investigating the shooting deaths of a San Leandro woman and her infant son, whose bodies were found early Sunday in a supermarket parking lot.

The bodies were discovered about 2 a.m. when a passerby noticed a car parked with its engine racing. Looking inside, the witness saw the 21-year-old woman slumped in the driver’s seat next to the infant.

Both victims were pronounced dead by the Alameda County coroner’s office.

Police said the woman, 21-year-old Rhoshima Gezell Pippins, died of a single gunshot wound. The infant boy, 6-month-old Michael Rashaad Glass, also died of bullet wounds, according to investigators.
