Reward Offered for Leads in Deadly Shooting

Police hope a $50,000 reward offered by Los Angeles officials will lead to the killers of two young men gunned down Sept. 22 in a car-to-car shooting in the Jefferson Park area of South Los Angeles.

Aaron Johnson, 17, and Larry Logan, 23, were killed about 3:30 a.m. near 10th Avenue and Adams Boulevard, said Lt. John Dunkin.

The victims were in Johnson’s 1984 Toyota Tercel, which had stalled, Dunkin said. As Johnson tried to restart the car, a white Honda Accord hatchback with two males inside pulled next to them.

A passenger in the Honda looked over, uttered what Dunkin described as “a gang challenge,” then fired several shots at Johnson and Logan. Neither Johnson nor Logan were gang members, authorities said.
