Kennedy Athletes Denied Eligibility

Avery O’Neal and Greg Avila of Kennedy High were denied athletic eligibility Thursday by the City Section Rules Committee.

Avila, a soccer player who transferred to Kennedy from Chaminade for financial reasons, was denied a request of a waiver to Rule 214 regarding transfer eligibility.

O’Neal requested a waiver of Rule 202, which mandates that students have eight consecutive semesters of eligibility once they start ninth grade.
