Coach: Scott Glabb (seventh year).
1995-96: 21-3 overall, 4-0 in the Golden West League; the Saints won their fourth league title and sent three wrestlers to state finals.
Key returners: Jacob La Roche, 171, Jr.; Jose Morales, 135, Sr.; Tony Perez, 103, Jr.; Fernando Serratos, 112, Sr.
Key newcomers: Frolian Gonzalez, 125, Jr.; Mauricio Juaguin, 140, Jr.; Jose Najera, 112/119, So.; Rudy Rosell, 145, Jr.
Outlook: Glabb lost two of his top wrestlers to graduation but still has a strong nucleus in Golden West League champions Perez and Morales and state-qualifier Serratos. Glabb said the lower weights will be strong but there will be some weakness in the middle weights, with holes to fill at 160 and 189 pounds. Still, the Sainll consider themselves a strong dual-meet team--despite losing their season opener to Magnolia--and may have a good chance for a Division III title at the Southern Section Dual Meet Championship. Glabb and Co. face a tough schedule, with their next big test coming next Thursday, when the visiting Saints face fifth-ranked Irvine in a nonconference match.
