Esiason Back With Cardinals After a One-Day Walkout
Arizona quarterback Boomer Esiason returned Thursday, saying he agreed to pay a fine for skipping one practice the day before and another during his locker-front news conference. He said he has taken back his request to be released and will finish the season, even if if means being a backup.
“What happened during the early part of this week was very disturbing to me,” said Esiason, who got the Cardinals to 6-6 by leading them to consecutive victories over the Redskins, Giants and Philadelphia Eagles but then threw two interceptions in successive losses.
