Touch of Sinnamonn Lifts Crescenta Valley

Sinnamonn Garrett had 14 points and 11 rebounds for Crescenta Valley High, which won the championship of the Cheyenne tournament in Las Vegas for the second consecutive year with a 56-35 victory Saturday over Dorsey.

Crescenta Valley (12-2) committed only three turnovers.

Jackie Rhetta and Michelle Greco each scored 12 points for the Falcons.

Greco, who had 19 points in a 48-35 victory over Las Vegas Green Valley in the semifinals earlier in the day, was selected most valuable player of the tournament.

In the Dominguez tournament:

Littlerock 65, Norwalk 3--Aja Magdaleno had 20 points and five steals for the Lobos (8-3), who capitalized on 40 Lancer turnovers in a consolation game. Norwalk attempted only 18 shots. Elizabeth Alcala’s 30-foot basket with time running out in the first half prevented a shutout. A running clock was used in the second half.

In the Santa Maria Valley Christian tournament:

Cornerstone Christian 44, Holy Martyrs 37--Julia Tamai scored 15 points for the Eagles (9-2), Julie Siefert added 13 points and Karri Becker earned MVP honors with an eight-point, 16-rebound performance in the championship game.

In the St. Petersburg tournament:

Buena 53, Florida Clearwater 39--Renae Hofmann scored 23 points on seven-of-nine shooting to lead the Bulldogs in a consolation game.

Ashley Jackson had 10 points and Nicole Greathouse had six points and nine rebounds for Buena (5-1).

Clearwater (13-2) is ranked No. 3 in Florida.

In the Thousand Oaks tournament:

Channel Islands 78, Camarillo 44--Alma Perez scored 13 points and Elanor Ecoffey had 12 for Channel Islands in pool play.

Oxnard 63, Westlake 29--Jaline Bradley had 26 points and Danielle Curtis scored 14 for the Yellowjackets (4-3) in a pool play game.
