Dison H.F.Poe; Chinese Educator, Author, Government Official
Dison H.F. Poe, 96, Chinese educator and author who wrote books ranging from Western political theory to poetry. Poe, who had retired to Southern California, was born in Changsu, China, and earned degrees at Tsing Hua College in Beijing and Harvard University. He taught political science and Chinese history at several universities in China and in the United States, including Hanover College and St. John’s University. In China and in Taiwan, he held several government positions, including deputy secretary general for the Executive Yuan (Cabinet) and later secretary general for the Taiwan provincial government. On Jan. 7 in San Gabriel.
