When Brenton Junge’s fourth-quarter shot went in at the buzzer, everyone, including the officials, thought Trabuco Hills had upset eighth-ranked San Clemente by one point in the South Coast League boys’ game Friday night. At San Clemente Coach Ed Coyle’s request, however, the officials reconsidered whether Junge’s shot was worth two or three points.

The officials ruled it a two-pointer and San Clemente went on to defeat Trabuco Hills, 87-77, in overtime.

Trailing by 10 after the first quarter, Trabuco Hills held San Clemente to three points in the second quarter and took a 33-25 lead into halftime. The Tritons’ only basket came when Semaj Johnson, who scored 30 points, made a full-court shot at the buzzer.
