Reward Withdrawn in Cosby Murder

Saying it wants to respect the wishes of Bill Cosby and his grieving family, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to rescind a $12,500 reward it had posted to help solve the murder of Cosby’s son, Ennis.

The supervisors voted 5 to 0 to withdraw the reward, which they had posted in the hopes it would prompt someone to come forward with information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever killed the younger Cosby.

“If the family does not want government money used for this reward, I feel we should respect their wishes,” said Supervisor Yvonne Brathwaite Burke.

Ennis Cosby, 27, was shot to death Jan. 16 while changing a tire along a darkened roadway in the Sepulveda Pass. Police have said they have no suspects. In a statement last week, Bill Cosby and his wife, Camille, said they did not wish to use taxpayer money for the reward.
