Harvard-Westlake Towers With Twins

Top-ranked North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake once again took advantage of the inside play of 6-foot-10 identical twins Jarron and Jason Collins to coast to a 93-46 victory over Compton Centennial in a Southern Section Division III-A quarterfinal game Tuesday night at Sherman Oaks Notre Dame High.

Jarron Collins finished with 24 points, eight rebounds, six steals and six blocked shots. Jason had 15 points, 25 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Harvard-Westlake improved to 30-1.

Long Beach Wilson 71, Mission Viejo Capistrano Valley 57--Senior guard Brandee Jones led a come-from-behind victory for the Bruins (16-12) by scoring 32 points in a Division I-AA second-round game at Wilson.

Wilson outscored Capistrano Valley, 44-32, in the second half. Deric Martin (12 points and 10 rebounds) also fueled the rally.

Lancaster Antelope Valley 93, Rowland 82--Le’Tre Kelly had 25 points and 16 rebounds, Ziaire Williams had 24 points and Tony Walker added 21 points and nine assists to lead the Antelopes (22-6) over the Raiders (16-10) at Rowland.

Compton Dominguez 99, Bellflower 55--Five players scored in double figures for the Dons (22-5) in a Division II-A second-round game at Bellflower (17-10).

Junior forward Jason Thomas led all scorers with 23 points. Tayshuan Prince added 13 points and seven blocked shots.

Lakewood Artesia 83, Culver City 59--Junior guard James Murdock scored a game-high 31 points and had 13 assists and five steals to lead the top-seeded Pioneers (27-2) in a Division II-A second-round game at Culver City (14-13).

Artesia broke the game open in the fourth quarter, outscoring Culver City, 25-11.

Santa Monica Crossroads 82, Santa Maria St. Joseph 61--Senior guard Baron Davis had 25 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and six steals to lead the top-seeded Roadrunners (25-3) in a Division IV-A quarterfinal at St. Monica High.
