Coach: Jim Brumm (first year).
1996: 11-4, 5-0 in the Century League; won the league title and would have placed second at Southern Section last year if their 200 freestyle relay team wasn’t disqualified in the final.
Key returners: Dagart Allison, So.; Robby Arroyo, Jr.; Ryan Carrol, Sr.; Tim Carrol, Jr.; Nick Ellis, Jr.; Matt Johan, Jr.; Jeremy Katz, Sr.; Ryan Kennedy, So.; Jason Korengold, Sr.; Matt McPherson, Jr.; Jeff Pflueger, Sr.; Nick Pirro, Jr.; James Thornton, Jr.
Key newcomers: Steve Carter, Sr.; Brent Locks, So.; Kevin McKee, Sr.
Outlook: Brumm is familiar with this team because he has been an assistant for eight years. Thornton, one of the few non-water polo players on the team, will be a factor in the distance events and should be a finalist in Southern Section finals. Also watch recent Tustin High transfers Steve Carter and Kevin McKee, who were top swimmers there. “I think we have a solid team and we’ll have some good relay times,” Brumm said.
