Former Cal Lutheran baseball Coach Rich Hill, now the coach at the University of San Francisco, is back in the area for a West Coast Conference doubleheader against Pepperdine at noon today in Malibu.
First-place Pepperdine (17-15, 5-0 in the WCC) opened the four-game series Thursday with a 6-2 victory over the Dons. The Waves feature ace left-hander and designated hitter Randy Wolf (5-2), who pitched Thursday.

For the record: Former Pierce College pitcher Jason Warren is playing at UNLV, not San Francisco, as reported here last week.
San Francisco (14-16, 2-3) has three pitchers from the region: Ray Rivera from Mission College, Jason Warren from Pierce College and Rich Igou from Notre Dame High.

College baseball: At 2 p.m., Linfield College at Master’s.
Men’s tennis: At 2 p.m., College of the Desert at Pierce.
High school baseball: At 3:15 p.m., Rio Mesa at Dos Pueblos, Oxnard at Hueneme, Ventura at Buena, Crescenta Valley at Glendale, South Pasadena at La Canada.
High school softball: At 3:15 p.m., South Pasadena at La Canada. At 3:30 p.m., Hueneme at Oxnard, Dos Pueblos at Rio Mesa.
High school swimming: At 2:30 p.m., Oxnard at San Marcos. At 3 p.m., Rio Mesa at Nordhoff.
High school tennis: At 2:30 p.m., Rio Mesa at Ventura, Hueneme at San Marcos, Dos Pueblos at Oxnard.
Boys’ volleyball: At 6:30 p.m., Nordhoff at Camarillo.
