Blast goalkeeper Juan Plascencia (Notre Dame) made 11 saves in the three matches.

Mexico City Pumas was the only team to advance out of the Blast’s four-team pool.

Matador acquitted: Cal State Northridge running back Jahi Arnold, who had been charged with assaulting his girlfriend while he was a student at Iowa State in December, was acquitted by a jury Thursday in Story County Municipal Court in Iowa.

Arnold transferred to Northridge in January. Although he has not earned a scholarship, coaches have been impressed with him in spring workouts.

Talking head: The JetHawks have added former KABC television reporter and weekend weatherman Rick DeReyes to their radio broadcasting team. DeReyes will join veteran announcer Dan Hubbard.
