Threes Are Aplenty for Mater Dei, Brea Olinda

For only the second time in 32 years, the Costa Mesa Downtown Kiwanis Club will allow three seniors from a team to participate in the Orange County All-Star Game.
This time, there are three groups of three. Brea Olinda’s Rochelle Anthony, Jennifer Saari and Marissa Bradley, and Mater Dei’s Tina Garcia, Lori Hurlbut and Charline Mendoza head the North team in the girls’ game at 5 p.m. April 19. Mater Dei’s Mike Vukovich, David Castleton and Tom Lippold will play for the North boys at 8 p.m.
The decision to allow the three players--rather than the typical two-senior limit from any one team--was made to provide for a more competitive game. However, only two players from a team can be on the court at the same time.

South girls--Breanna Badorek, Newport Harbor, Krissy Duperron, Woodbridge; Tayyiba Haneef, Laguna Hills; Tami Higham, Mission Viejo; Tamara Inoue, Laguna Hills; Jenny Jennings, Capistrano Valley; Koo Kim, Costa Mesa; Phouangmaly Pravongviengkham, Huntington Beach; Shauna Steward, Edison; Jennifer Tuiolosega, Ocean View; Lindsay Warmington, Corona del Mar; Carlie Willard, Santa Margarita. Coach: Lynn Taylor, Laguna Hills.
