Los Angeles city attorneys have charged a 39-year-old Simi Valley man with possession of child pornography after he answered an ad in an adult newspaper, authorities said.

Ronald Kenneth Rosen was charged with one count of possessing materials featuring children engaged in sexual conduct, authorities said.

According to police, Rosen’s arrest was the result of an undercover operation run by the Los Angeles Police Department and the FBI.

Police said a detective posing as a photographer ran an advertisement in an adult newspaper saying he wanted to photograph families engaged in activities together.

According to Deputy City Atty. Deborah Sanchez, Rosen responded to the ad Feb. 19 and offered to trade child pornography with the undercover officer.

They exchanged the pornographic material in a west Los Angeles parking lot, after which Rosen was taken into custody.

More evidence was collected from Rosen’s home when a search warrant was served, Sanchez said.

Rosen is scheduled for arraignment April 22 in Los Angeles Municipal Court.
