Creative Artists’ Rapke to Leave

Share

Creative Artists Agency confirmed that veteran motion picture agent Jack Rapke, who was elevated to one of three co-chairmen at the agency following the departure of ex-Chairman Michael Ovitz in 1995, is leaving the agency.

Rapke, whose clients include such top directors as Ron Howard and Robert Zemeckis, has no plans yet, the agency said, but he does want to move into filmmaking. One rumor has him teaming with Zemeckis, who won an Oscar for directing “Forrest Gump,” in a production venture.

Rapke, 46, has been with the agency for 17 years. Over the past few years, he has been mentioned frequently as a potential studio executive whenever a top-level job vacancy occurs.
