Robert Ramelli; War Vet, Edison Foreman

Lifelong Ventura County resident Robert Raymond Ramelli of Ventura died Thursday after a brief illness. He was 70.

Ramelli was born Dec. 5, 1926, in Santa Paula. He attended Oxnard High School and served in the Navy during World War II. He worked for Southern California Edison and retired as a foreman after 35 years of service.

After retirement, Ramelli enjoyed gardening and playing cards.

Ramelli is survived by a son, Craig, of Ventura; a daughter, Kami Pharis of Thousand Oaks; a brother, William Ramelli of Camarillo; a sister, Kathleen Jamison of Ojai; and two granddaughters.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura, with the Rev. Jim Wells officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Ventura County Unit, 121 N. Joanne St., Ventura, CA 93003.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura.
