Shooter May Have Had Help, Sheriff Says

A 14-year-old West Paducah, Ky., student may not have acted alone when he shot up a prayer circle in a high school, the sheriff said. Three young girls died and five were wounded after Michael Carneal allegedly opened fire after the prayer meeting in the crowded lobby at Heath High School. Sheriff Frank Augustus acknowledged his theory was based on a “gut feeling” and that no evidence had been found pointing to a conspiracy.
