Evans, Wright Are All-City

Emmanuel Evans of Birmingham High and Quincy Wright of El Camino Real, who both rushed for more than 2,000 yards this season, were selected to the All-City football team.

For the first time, selections were made by a representative coach from each of the six conferences and a first and second team was selected. In previous years, All-City teams were split into 3-A and 4-A divisions and were selected by area sportswriters.

Quarterback Steve Alvarado, linebacker Tyler Brennan and safety Sedric Hurns were selected from Taft, which lost to San Pedro in the 4-A title game for the second consecutive year.
