Schultz Zeroes In Again, 2-0

Mike Schultz pitched a five-hitter and Central Valley defeated Granada Hills West, 2-0, Wednesday at Cleveland High for its sixth consecutive victory.

Schultz (5-0) struck out six and walked one.

Central Valley (14-5) scored in the first inning. Ladoff batter Justin Savitt singled and stole second. Jason Woolman singled him home and later scored on a single by Jared Mills.

Granada Hills West is 7-13.

North Hollywood West 3, Sun Valley 2--Ismael Rangsiyawong doubled in the bottom of the seventh inning to drive in Raul Castaneda from second with the winning run for North Hollywood West (15-5).

Rangsiyawong had three hits, including two doubles.

Brandon Murphy (4-1) pitched a five-hitter with six strikeouts and three walks for North Hollywood West, which has won four games in a row.

Sal Trujillo (3-3) got the loss but hit two doubles for Sun Valley (8-14).

Woodland Hills East 8, Valley South 0--Yaron Peters and Travis Rutter hit home runs in a five-run first inning for Woodland Hills East (16-5).

Jon Meier (6-1) of Woodland Hills East allowed four hits in six innings. He struck out four and walked none.

Peters hit his third home run and drove in four runs, and Rutter hit his seventh homer.

Antelope Valley South 21, Quartz Hill South 7--Kevin Barlow had four hits, including a double, to help Antelope Valley South to a victory at Quartz Hill High.

Antelope Valley South’s Ross Roth had three hits and pitched a nine-hitter with six strikeouts and one walk. Teammate Brian Scoles had two hits.
