ROSEVILLE--Next weekend’s 21st annual International Railfair will feature what an organizer termed “delicate, dynamic art”: extensive, detailed model-train layouts. One layout includes a circus setup with trapeze, Ferris wheel and more. There will be food and model-train paraphernalia for sale, miniature railroad rides ($1 per person) and full-size handcars on display. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at Placer County Fairgrounds, Washington Boulevard. $5, $2 children 5-12, under 5 free. PALM DESERT--The 33rd annual Golf Cart Parade wends its way along El Paseo beginning at 1 p.m. next Sunday. About 100 floats will be built around the carts. Creations in years past have included a moving carousel, the Statue of Liberty and a spaceship. After the parade, floats will be parked at Civic Center Park, Fred Waring Drive and San Pablo Avenue, where there will be entertainment, including comedy acts, dancing and music. Free. JULIAN--Dawn Kirk Crafters, a local artisans group, will hold its annual holiday craft fairs, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 7. SACRAMENTO--Native American artistry will be on display at the Arts and Crafts Holiday Fair, Nov. 28-30. PETALUMA--Santa stows the sleigh for a special arrival Nov. 29 aboard the Petaluma Queen. At noon, the riverboat will deposit Santa and Mrs. Claus at the downtown harbor, between B and Water streets. At 12:45 p.m., the Antique Wagon & Horse Procession will kick off at 4th and B streets.
