AIR FORCE WATER POLO

* County connection: There are seven local players at Air Force. Jay Reaves is from El Toro, Rob Mattivi and Matt Mountcastle are from Servite, Mark McGill is from University, Chad Simendinger and Dave Slavich are from Esperanza and Brent Reimer is from Brea Olinda.

* Worth noting: Reaves, a senior driver, is team captain for Air Force (9-12).

TENNESSEE VOLLEYBALL

* County connection: Allison Stricklin is from Mater Dei, Lynn Lovingier is from Calvary Chapel and Mary Heinecke is from Woodbridge.

* Worth noting: Lovingier had 23 kills and 34 digs in two matches last week for Tennessee (12-15). Heinecke, who had missed three matches with a back injury, had 14 kills Friday in a loss to Georgia. Stricklin is out for the year after complications from an earlier surgery.
