Eagle Fans Ruffle Feathers
Responding to several unruly incidents during Monday night’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagle owner Jeffrey Lurie said the team will get tougher with rowdy fans.
One incident involved a man shooting off a flare gun. One of eight charges filed against him included arson, Lurie said. The team also is looking to file a civil suit against the man, he added.
The man received his ticket from a season ticket holder, whose tickets have “forever” been revoked, game officials said.
“Fans must be accountable for the use of their seats in an instance of such extreme behavior,” the Eagles said in a written statement.
Lurie said the review of fan policies and security procedures will be aimed at discouraging such misconduct.
