Fullerton 30, San Diego Mesa 22--San Diego Mesa had the ball on Fullerton’s 10-yard line with a a chance to tie the score on the last play of the game, but Donnie Gunritz sacked Mesa’s Ariel Guitron and the Hornets (2-2) held on.

With Fullerton leading, 23-22, in the fourth quarter, Frankie Salazar returned a kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown to give the Hornets an eight-point lead.

Fullerton’s Ron Murray caught touchdown passes of 14 and 26 yards from Geoff Berg.

San Diego Mesa (0-4) has lost 24 consecutive games.

Mt. San Antonio 66, Orange Coast 14--Orange Coast gave up a school-record 66 points en route to its 11th consecutive loss, tying a school record set in 1954.

The Pirates (0-3) have been outscored this season, 137-14, and have minus 24 yards rushing.

Ivan Mercer caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Chad Collins to end the Pirates’ scoreless streak and Josh Meyer added a two-yard rushing touchdown.

Saddleback 29, Pasadena 22--Paul Thompson caught three touchdown passes to lead Saddleback over host Pasadena.

Thompson, who caught four passes for 131 yards, scored on catches of 36, 44 and 41 yards. His first two touchdowns came from starting quarterback Matt O’Connor and the final one was from Brian Wilson, who replaced O’Connor in the third quarter.

The score was tied, 22-22, in the third quarter after a fumble by Saddleback in the end zone. Wilson drove the team 81 yards on 10 plays before connecting with Thompson to clinch the victory for Saddleback (2-1).
