Honors

Wide receiver Basil Duncantell of Pierce College has been selected Western State Conference player of the week.

Duncantell, a sophomore from Portland, Ore., had nine receptions for 182 yards and a touchdown in a 45-21 loss to Harbor last Saturday.

Punter Ed Melgar of Glendale also was selected player of the week.
