Zar Transfers Back to Thousand Oaks
Nikki Zar, a junior defender who helped Chaminade High win the 1997 Southern Section Division III girls’ soccer title, has transferred to Thousand Oaks.
Zar, who scored the Eagles’ first goal in a 2-1 victory over El Modena in the championship match in March, attended Thousand Oaks as a freshman.
“She’s the best stopper I saw in high school soccer last season,” said Chaminade Coach Mike Evans, who was unaware of Zar’s transfer until Eagle Athletic Director Ed Croson notified him Wednesday. “We can’t replace her. We’ll just try to switch players around.”

Mark the calendar: Chatsworth tight end-linebacker Kevin Doty, sidelined since Sept. 26 with a broken collarbone, is expected to return Nov. 7, Chancellor Coach Myron Gibford said.
Doty was expected to be one of the top players in the Northwest Valley Conference until his injury.
