Wilson at CSUN

* Re “Wilson’s New Lease on Future Promises to Energize CSUN,” Aug. 31.
Valley State’s academic prestige was second only to UCLA when I graduated from the Northridge campus in 1963. It really did mean something when you put it on your resume, and you were proud to be a “San Fernando Valley State College” graduate. I have mixed feelings today.
Blenda Wilson is the focus today . . . not the academics of the university. I was personally disappointed that your Sunday editorial agreed and suggested that she “particularly focus” on neighborhood feelings and sports funding.
She needs to get busy upgrading the school’s academic reputation and balance the budget.
