Concordia Gets First Soccer Win

Concordia won its first game in women’s soccer, defeating Pacific Christian, 7-1, in a nonconference game Wednesday.
The victory ended a six-game losing streak for Concordia, which started the program this season.
Elizabeth Ortiz, Shawnna Johnson and Regina Harrison, a former Laguna Hills High player, had two goals each to lead Concordia (1-6).
Crystal Rodriguez had five saves for the Eagles. Emily Harvey scored the only goal for Pacific Christian (0-4).
In other nonconference women’s soccer:
Cal State Fullerton 3, Hawaii 0--Goalkeeper Dawn Bitsie had four saves for the Titans (3-2-1). Dolores Browning scored the first goal of the game at the 26th minute to make it, 1-0.
Shawna Panter’s goal 11 minutes later made it 2-0. Jennifer Averill scored the final goal in the 56th minute to cap the shutout.
Chapman 1, UC Santa Cruz 1--Nicole Ragsac scored in the 83rd minute and tied the score for UC Santa Cruz (4-3-1). Natalle Kaylor scored in the first half for Chapman (6-0-1).
Ragsac’s goal was the first given up by Chapman this year.
Southern California College 2, The Master’s 0--Jamie Gardiner scored her seventh goal of the season in the first half of SCC’s victory over the Master’s (3-3).
Gardiner, on a corner kick, also set up teammate Ganesha Cobb for the Vanguards’ (5-2) second goal of the match.
Jessica Lubman had one save in the shutout. The Master’s managed only two shots on goal.
In nonconference volleyball:
Chapman 3, UC Santa Cruz 1--Chapman had a kill percentage of 30 in the last two games of a 15-10, 10-15, 15-5, 15-6 victory over UC Santa Cruz (4-5).
UC Irvine 3, San Francisco 2--Larissa Carter had 23 kills to lead the Anteaters in their 15-8, 12-15, 15-6, 13-15, 15-13 victory. Teri Zartman had 70 assists for UC Irvine (3-5). San Francisco drops to 2-8.
