In a consolation game:

Mater Dei 11, El Dorado 3--Ryan Ralph hit a home run, but El Dorado (12-5) fell short in the fifth-place game.

In the Chino tournament:

Mission Viejo 9, Chino 0--Dan Kessel threw his third complete game of the season, giving up five hits and striking out three, for Mission Viejo (9-6) in the pool play.

Westminster 4, La Verne Damien 2--Freddy Rodriguez, a freshman, pitched six innings of scoreless relief and the Lions (12-4) rallied with three runs in the sixth inning. Rodriguez came on in the second inning with Westminster trailing, 2-0, and held Damien to four hits, striking out two. The Lions got one run back on Chris Balogh’s home run in the fifth, then took the lead when two runs scored on a throwing error in the sixth. Matt Poling capped the rally with a bases-empty home run.

In the San Pedro Mary Star of the Sea tournament:

Brethren Christian 7, Montebello Cantwell Sacred Heart 3--Sean Ireland had a two-run homer in Brethren Christian’s six-run fourth inning. Ireland also had a run-scoring double for the Warriors (6-7-1) in the fifth-place game.

In the Starter Classic:

Calvary Chapel 4, Washington (Fla.) 2--Randy Blood had two hits, two stolen bases and scored twice for Calvary Chapel (10-5).

In the West Coast Classic:

Concord De La Salle 12, Fountain Valley 5--The Barons took a 3-0 lead in the first inning, but De La Salle (12-4) rallied, scoring two in the second and four in the third to finish third in the tournament.
