Low-Cost Rabies Vaccine Offered for Dogs, Cats
The Southern California Veterinary Assn. will offer a low-cost anti-rabies clinic for dogs and cats tonight in Beverly Hills.
State, county and city ordinances require all dogs 4 months and older to be vaccinated against rabies, said Richard Holden, executive director of the association.
Holden also urged cat owners to vaccinate their pets because felines can contract the disease playing with sick bats, the predominant carrier of rabies in Los Angeles County.
The clinic also will offer a once-a-year DHLPP shot for dogs and another general annual vaccine for cats.
The cost of the rabies vaccination is $4.
The clinic will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Santa Monica Parkway, between Rodeo and Beverly drives. Dogs must be leashed and cats must be in pet carriers.
