In other Simi Valley tournament games:

Grant 79, Camarillo 38--Gilbert Arenas scored 52 points and had eight rebounds and six steals to help the Lancers take third place.

Daniel Tarr scored 13 points for Grant (3-1), which took command with a 21-4 run in the first quarter.

Kyle Lassiter scored 15 points for Camarillo (2-2).

Pasadena Marshall 68, North Hollywood 62--Jason McKissick scored nine of his 19 points and Eric Roller had six of his nine points in the fourth quarter but the Huskies’ rally fell short in the fifth-place game.

McKissick’s basket drew North Hollywood (1-2) to within 58-57 with 2:34 to play, but two baskets by Jason Sanford and two free throws helped the Eagles (3-1) regain control.

Chris Bennett of Marshall had 20 points and eight rebounds, and Ray Phifer added 12 points.

South Gate 65, Notre Dame 56--Dante Ward scored all 14 of his points in the second half to help Notre Dame cut an 18-point, third-quarter deficit to five, but the Knights fell in the seventh-place game.

Notre Dame (1-3) built an early 13-point advantage without starters Ward, Brandon Griffin and Chris Williams, who arrived late after taking the Scholastic Assessment Test.

South Gate (2-2) rallied behind Ronald Johnson, who scored 35 points.

El Camino Real 71, San Fernando 52--Justin Saad-Anthony scored 20 points and the Conquistadores (2-1) took ninth place.

Jason Tubbs had 16 points for San Fernando (1-2).

SAUGUS BOYS’ TOURNAMENT

Oxnard 65, Calabasas 59--Jacob Galloway, the tournament’s most valuable player, scored 21 points and had six assists in leading the Yellowjackets to the championship.

Damian Tafoya had 11 points and seven assists, and Matt Merricks added nine points and six steals for Oxnard (3-1).

Guard Spencer Hariton scored 22 points for the Coyotes (3-1) and Mike Goldman and Steve McKeown each had 11.

Calabasas led, 29-25, at halftime and went on an 8-0 run to take a 41-31 lead. But Oxnard answered with an 8-0 run to tie the score, 41-41, late in the third quarter.

Matt Merricks’ three-pointer gave Oxnard the lead for good, 44-42, at the start of the fourth quarter. He then put the game away with two free throws with four seconds left.

“We started taking advantage of our size in the second half,” Coach Henry Lobo of Oxnard said. “And [Merricks] had a phenomenal fourth quarter.”

Quartz Hill 62, Westlake 53--Brandon Butchart and Brady Chelette each scored 15 points for the Rebels (2-2), who took third place.

Jake DeGennaro scored 27 points for the Warriors (2-2).

Stockdale 55, Saugus 52--Britt Beal scored 15 points to help the Mustangs (3-1) win the fifth-place game. Nick Echevestre scored 16 points for Saugus (2-2).

In other boys’ games:

Littlerock 74, Channel Islands 69--Jerome Holyfield and Gene Myvett scored all nine of Littlerock’s points in overtime and the Lobos won the Nordhoff tournament title.

Holyfield, who finished with 12 points, including five in overtime, hit a three-point shot to break a 69-69 tie with 40 seconds left. He followed with a steal on Channel Islands’ ensuing possession and hit an uncontested layup. Myvett, the tournament most valuable player, had 26 points.

South Pasadena 55, Paraclete 54--Justin Lee hit an eight-foot follow shot at the buzzer to give the Tigers (2-2) fifth place in the Nordhoff tournament.

Glenn Jones played on a sprained right ankle but he had 18 points for Paraclete (1-2).

Nordhoff 55, Hueneme 48--Andy Flores had 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Etienne Emanuel had 11 points to help the Rangers take third place in the Nordhoff tournament.

Chaminade 63, Serra 54--Cayce Cook and J.J. Todd combined for 45 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Eagles win the West Hills tournament in Santee.

Cook had 24 points, six rebounds and five assists and Todd had 21 points and 12 rebounds for Chaminade (4-0).

St. Bonaventure 63, Providence 60--Michael Emard, the tournament MVP, scored 25 points and the Seraphs (4-0) won the Providence tournament.

Shant Bekmezian had 13 points and 10 steals for Providence (2-1).

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Crescenta Valley 60, Alhambra 25--Sinnamonn Garrett scored 30 points and the Falcons shut out the Moors in the third quarter and won the championship of the Crescenta Valley tournament.

Garrett, a junior forward, was selected most valuable player.

Crescenta Valley (4-0) switched from a zone to a man-to-man defense in the second half, when it forced Alhambra (3-1) into 17 of its 21 turnovers. The Falcons outscored Alhambra, 12-0, in the third quarter to extend its lead to 42-16.

Kristie Umemoto, Crescenta Valley’s second-leading scorer with a 21-point average, did not start because of a head injury suffered in the semifinals. She played sparingly and finished with five points.

Littlerock 66, Grant 48--Jameka Taylor scored 13 points and the Lobos (3-2) took third place in the Crescenta Valley tournament.

Chatsworth 33, Garfield 27--Freshman Liz Sun had six points, 11 rebounds and four steals to help the Chancellors win the L.A. Wilson tournament. Alice Elias, Pam Clark and Ashley Shelton each had six points for Chatsworth (4-0).

Highland 52, Montclair 46--Denisha McQueen scored 19 points and Andrea Guzman added 10 to for the Bulldogs in the fifth-place game of the Etiwanda tournament.

Saugus 57, L.A. Baptist 33--Lexi Phelps, the tournament MVP, scored 10 of her 17 points in the second quarter and the Centurions won the Fillmore tournament.

Oak Park 64, Fillmore 54--Kim Bryan scored 16 points and the Eagles won the seventh-place game of the Fillmore tournament.
