Man’s Body Dumped on Offramp Shoulder

Police are trying to determine who shot a man and dumped his body onto the shoulder of an offramp late Sunday night or early Monday.

A passing motorist spotted the body at 12:30 a.m. Monday on the Devonshire Street offramp of the San Diego Freeway and notified Los Angeles police, who were unable to identify the victim.

Police described the victim as a black man in his early 20s. He was wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. Police said they found no identification on the body, which had several gunshot wounds in the upper torso.

The man was slain at another location and dumped at the offramp, said Det. Frank Bishop, a homicide investigator with LAPD’s Foothill Station.

Police are hoping an autopsy by Los Angeles coroner’s investigators will yield clues.

“We have absolutely nothing,” he said, adding that the investigation will also hinge on witnesses coming forward.
