STINGRAYS TONIGHT

Share

Opponent--New England Blizzard.

Time--7:30.

Records--New England 20-19, Long Beach 21-15.

Site--Pyramid, Long Beach State.

Update--Kara Wolters and the Blizzard make their only Long Beach appearance tonight, a month after the StingRays beat New England at the Pond of Anaheim, 70-64. Both teams are playoff-bound, with New England probably being matched against San Jose in the first round beginning Feb. 20. Long Beach, if the season ended today, would meet Colorado, which defeated New England on Sunday in Denver, 85-71. Long Beach got major production from substitutes Cass Bauer and Niesa Johnson in an 85-70 victory over Atlanta. New England is stumbling at the finish, having followed a five-game winning streak with a three-game losing streak. Carolyn Jones (21.5 points a game) has scored 25, 35, 30 and 28 in recent games. The 6-foot-7 Wolters had 13 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots Sunday at Denver.
