Three men posing as police officers forced their way into a Pacoima home late Tuesday, where they tied up five adults in view of at least three children and took cash and jewelry, according to police.

No one was injured during the robbery and the intruders remained at large, said Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Mike Partain.

The residents of the home in the 13000 block of Weidner Street told investigators that they heard pounding on the door about 11 p.m., and the men then announced themselves as the police.

“The next thing they knew,” Partain said, “the suspects were in the house.”

The victims said the men were between the ages of 35 and 42 with medium builds. They were wearing black jackets with “POLICE” written on the back in white block letters.

Partain said the men, who spoke Spanish, pointed semiautomatic handguns at the victims and demanded drugs and money.

Det. Jim Bosse of the LAPD’s Foothill Division said the residents, who ranged from 12 to 43 years old, were rounded up and put into a bedroom of the one-story house. At least three of the victims were children, he said.

Bosse saidt the victims were forced to the floor and five adults were bound with plastic wrist constraints. Then the men ransacked the house.

One of the victims, who was not tied, called police after the men left, Bosse said.
