Objections to Clinton Photos

Share

I find it appalling that the news media, which so self-righteously criticize the tabloids for their journalistic indiscretions, were ever so anxious to broadcast and publish photographs of the president and his family’s private vacation moments (Jan. 3-5). I am glad that the first family was able to enjoy a few days of leisure; but how restful could it have been with the cameras’ intrusion into their most innocent moments on the beach?

I do not care that the president and his wife were dancing in their swimsuits (Jan. 5). I do not care that the family romped in the water. I really do not care that Buddy, the brown dog, couldn’t learn to fetch a stick. I do care that the privileges of personal freedom and privacy, which we all cherish as citizens of the United States, are not afforded to our chief executive who is sworn to protect those rights for us all.

* Do we really need to see our president and first lady semi-clad in what appears to be a private moment? In my opinion this picture belongs in the family album and not on the front page of a major newspaper.
