FROM THE LOCKER ROOMS
LINEBACKER BILL ROMANOWSKI
Q. How did you prepare to play Brett Favre?
A. “We saw some tendencies. We saw that he didn’t always throw perfect passes. We watched films, lots of them, and saw that he could be rattled and rushed.”
TIGHT END SHANNON SHARPE
Q. Were you happy or unhappy that it ended up being the defending champion Packers against you in the Super Bowl?
A. “I wanted Green Bay most of all, right from the start. I didn’t want Kansas City or Pittsburgh when they were challenging us. I didn’t want either of those guys at home. But the Packers, on a neutral site, without the Cheeseheads. I wanted that. A lot.”
CENTER TOM NALEN
Q. It seemed like you, at 286 pounds, wore down your main opponent, Gilbert Brown, at 345. True?
A. “At the end, it seemed like he was taking a long time to get up after every play. I was surprised they didn’t sub for him more. He played hard the whole game, but by the end, he was just plain worn out.”
SHANNON SHARPE
Q. Did you feel your team belonged here all along?
A. “We earned the right to play in the Super Bowl. We beat the best team in the world. We are the best team in the world.”
