Investigators are seeking four men in connection with the death of a Carson woman during a robbery at her home early Tuesday, officials said.

Elba Rodriguez, 22, died of a gunshot wound at her home in the 22000 block of Neptune Avenue, sheriff’s deputies said.

“She was shot through a closed door in the bathroom,” said Sgt. John Laurie of the Los Angeles County sheriff’s homicide bureau. “I don’t know if she was chased there, or if they became aware of her there because of water running.”

A shot was also fired through the locked bedroom door where her aunt was in the process of calling 911, Laurie said. The woman was unharmed.

Witnesses reported seeing three men running down the street, one of whom had a television. The fourth man is believed to be the driver of the getaway car, a dark, four-door Honda Accord with tinted windows and chrome rims, officials said.

The only items stolen were two portable television sets, Laurie said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s homicide bureau at (213) 890-5500.
