Dishington Doubles in Triple-A Debut

Nate Dishington (Hoover High) made his triple-A debut Friday night, and hit a run-scoring double for the Memphis Redbirds in an 11-5 loss to Omaha.
Dishington started at first base and batted cleanup one day after being promoted by the St. Louis Cardinals from double-A Arkansas, where he was batting .253 with 17 home runs and 49 runs batted in.

Right-hander Jeff Suppan (Crespi) was sent back down to triple-A Tucson on Friday after falling to 1-7 for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Suppan lost, 3-2, to the Chicago Cubs on Thursday, throwing 115 pitches in five innings. In that game, Suppan also stole his first major league base.
It was the second time in a month that the expansion team has demoted Suppan, who has a 6.68 ERA and has given up 12 home runs in 66 innings.

Friday night’s attendance of 7,071 was a franchise record for the JetHawks.
