Edwards Theatres Hires 5 New Executives

To keep pace with aggressive expansion plans, Edwards Theatres Circuit, Inc. has added five new positions to its executive roster, hiring two theater executives from competitors. Mike McCartney, former senior vice president with Cineplex Odeon Corp., is now a vice president in the Newport Beach-based theater company’s film office department. Kevin P. Forbotta, previously vice president of operations for General Cinema, has been named theater operations vice president. The company also named Susan Hill as marketing director. She had been director of public relations for Bloomingdale’s. In addition, Larry Porricelli has been appointed director of distributor relations, and James Woodin has become media coordinator. Porricelli and Woodin have been with Edwards organization for more than eight years. Edwards announced earlier this year it plans to add 82 new screens at six theater complexes in and around Orange County.
