Western League North Stars Win
Alan Burke of the Vigilantes had a single and drove in a run for the South team, which lost to the North, 8-3, in the Western Baseball League all-star game before an announced crowd of 4,297 Monday in Chico.
The Vigilantes’ Mike Smith came into the game in the seventh with the North leading, 4-3, but Smith gave up five hits and four earned runs.
