In other District 20 tournament games:

Woodland Hills El Camino Real 8, Valley Chatsworth 3--Ryan Gunches pitched an eight-hitter and had two hits to help Woodland Hills El Camino Real stay alive at Burroughs High.

Woody Cliffords had three hits, including a home run in the third, for Woodland Hills El Camino Real (27-3). Brian Somoza added three hits and Conor Jackson hit a three-run homer and a sacrifice fly.

Chad Redfern had three hits and Charles Kenny had two hits and two RBIs for Valley Chatsworth (24-7), which was eliminated.

Van Nuys Notre Dame 15, Canyon Country Canyon 5--Kevin Jerkens had two hits and Jason Hershfield pitched an eight-hitter for Van Nuys Notre Dame at Valley College.

Hershfield (6-1) allowed one earned run, struck out two and walked six.

Jerkens, Ryan Stonerock and James Rivero each drove in two runs for Van Nuys Notre Dame.

Mike Munn had a two-run single for Canyon Country Canyon (20-10), which was eliminated.

Valley Chatsworth 12, North Hollywood Poly 5--Mike Kunes (2-3) pitched an eight-hitter and had four hits for Valley Chatsworth at Burroughs High.

Kunes gave up five earned runs and three walks, and struck out six.

Steve Kracow had four hits and drove in two runs for Valley Chatsworth, and Charles Kenny had two hits and drove in four runs.

Victor Martinez and Sal Trujuillo each had two hits for North Hollywood Poly (21-8), which was eliminated.

Trujillo (4-2) gave up 15 hits and nine runs in seven innings. He struck out five and walked two.

Newhall Saugus Hart 14, Woodland Hills El Camino Real 8--J.T. Stotts had three hits and Ryan Haage and Tim Hutting each had two to help Newhall Saugus Hart snap Woodland Hills El Camino Real’s 18-game winning streak at Valley College.

Conor Jackson had two hits and drove in one run for Woodland Hills El Camino Real.

Woodland Hills El Camino Real took a 7-4 lead with five runs in the sixth inning on four hits and four walks, but Newhall Saugus Hart scored six runs in the seventh and four more in the ninth.

In a late game Friday:

Newhall Saugus Hart 18, Van Nuys Notre Dame 6--Matt Friedrichsen hit three home runs, two in the ninth inning, and drove in six runs at Burroughs High.

Friedrichsen hit a grand slam in a nine-run ninth and added two home runs.

Jamie Shields added a two-run homer for Newhall Saugus Hart.

John Puccinelli had two hits, including a three-run homer for Van Nuys Notre Dame.

In District 16 games:

Westlake Warriors 7-1, Santa Susana 3-12--Ryan McCarthy had three hits for Westlake in the first game at Royal High.

Jeff Dragicevich hit a grand slam in the sixth inning to give the Warriors (8-11) a 6-2 lead.

In the second game, Santa Susana (19-5-1) took a 6-0 lead after three innings and clinched a spot in the Area 6 playoffs beginning Thursday at Jackie Robinson Stadium.

Brandon Voorhees hit a home run in the third, a run-scoring double in the fourth and a two-run homer in the fifth for Santa Susana.

Tyrone Kimbrough added a two-run homer.
