Rolling, Splashing Tour of Seattle

Share

You can now see Seattle by land and by sea--and all in the same vehicle.

Entrepreneur Tom Ismon and cable-show host Brian Tracey were scheduled to start running tours this weekend on World War II amphibious DUKW vehicles that were refurbished in Branson, Mo., with new engines and transmissions.

Departing several times daily from the base of the Space Needle, the vehicles roll down city streets past Pike Place Market and other landmarks, then splash across Lake Union for a view of the skyline. Driver-captains narrate the trip for up to 38 passengers. Tickets are $20 adults, $15 for children under 12. Reservations: tel. (800) 817-1116.
