‘WENN’ Returning to AMC; ‘Deep Space’ to End Season

American Movie Classics’ “Remember WENN,” the charming, award-winning comedy series set at a Pittsburgh radio station in 1941, returns for its fourth season on the cable network, Friday at 7 and 10:30 p.m. Among the guest stars this season will be John Ratzenberg, Daniel Benzali and John Henson.

Meanwhile, the season finale of “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” at 8 tonight on KCOP-TV Channel 13, finds Sisko (Avery Brooks) leading an invasion into Dominion territory. The episode also marks the departure of Terry Farrell as Dax.

Today

NBC kicks off its four-day coverage of the U.S. Open Golf tournament at noon on Channel 4. The second round is scheduled for Friday at noon; third-round coverage tees off Saturday at 11 a.m.; the final round is set for Sunday at 11 a.m.

“Party Monster,” at midnight on Cinemax, looks at the sordid life of New York club promoter Michael Alig.

Friday

The latest installment in Lifetime’s sports series “Breaking Through,” at 7 p.m., examines the sponsorship troubles of the women’s baseball team the Colorado Silver Bullets.

The Cartoon Network goes Bug-sy this weekend as it presents more than 100 Bugs Bunny cartoons. The 48-hour “June Bugs” marathon starts at 9 p.m.

Saturday

Bjorn Borg meets Jimmy Connors on CBS’ “The Challenge” at 1 p.m. on Channel 2.

ABC presents the “X Games,” at 2 p.m. on Channel 7. The nine-day extreme sports event from San Diego features bicycle stunt riding and street luge racing. At 6 p.m., ESPN2 offers the water sport wakeboarding and aggressive in-line skating.

The Disney Channel presents the eighth annual “The American Teacher Awards,” at 6 and 9 p.m., which honors the top elementary and secondary school teachers in the country. Brian McKnight and Dave Koz are scheduled to perform.

The Learning Channel’s “TLC Legends” series looks at the lives of Monaco’s Prince Albert, Princess Stephanie and Princess Caroline on “Princess Grace’s Legacy,” at 7 p.m.

ABC’s short-lived fall 1997 series “Timecop” returns with unseen episodes, at 8 p.m. on Channel 7.

Sunday

Nick Clooney will interview his son George on a special Father’s Day edition of AMC’s “Behind the Screen” series at 4:30 and 9:30 p.m.

A&E;’s “Biography” series presents a two-hour look at Ozzie, Harriet, Ricky and David Nelson on “The Adventures of America’s Favorite Family,” at 5, 7, 9 and 11 p.m.

VH1’s “Storytellers” kicks off a new season at 7 p.m. with veteran rocker Rod Stewart performing many of his greatest hits and discussing how they came to be recorded.

Mensun Bound, director of Oxford University’s Maritime Archeological Units, hosts the Learning Channel’s “Lost Ships,” at 5 and 8 p.m. The three-part documentary explores famous shipwrecks, including Adm. Horatio Nelson’s Agamemnon and Nazi Germany’s the Graf Spee.

Dennis Weaver stars in the family drama “Escape From Wildcat Canyon,” at 8 p.m. on Showtime.

Glenn Close narrates “Baboon Tales” on the Discovery Channel’s “Wild Discovery” series, at 8 p.m. and midnight. The documentary follows the olive baboons of central Kenya during the severe drought of the summer of 1997.

E! Entertainment Television presents “Pee-wee Herman: The E! True Hollywood Story,” at 8 p.m.
